It’s not easy to learn a foreign language.

When I started studying French alone, I could only hear French as a sound.

Generally, In Japan, English is studied at junior high school to high school. Almost all Japanese people watch American movies in English with Japanese subtitle.

One hears very well, even if one does not speak very well because of ways of teaching, focusing on the grammatical translation.

But how about French for Japanese? 

French is written in an alphabet like English, but there is not much opportunity to listen to it frequently.

It's all normal, I could not learn as fast as I imagined. But a few weeks later, I understood the conversation in French, it was not a sound but a meaningful word.  I was very moved from this moment.

If you do not know so many Japanese words, you may feel at the start that Japanese is a language from another planet. However, if you try to listen and talk as much as possible, you can start to talk fluently.
